Wedding Videographers in Cork: Venues, Prices and What to Ask (2026/27)

Cork is Ireland's biggest county and, for a wedding videographer, two or three different places. A city wedding in Douglas or Glanmire, a castle wedding in East Cork and a clifftop ceremony on the Beara peninsula have almost nothing in common except the accent. This guide covers the venues filmmakers know well, what Cork couples pay, the West Cork logistics that catch suppliers out, and what to ask before you book.

What makes Cork different on film

  • Distances are real. Cork city to Castletownbere is two and a half hours. A videographer based in the city will quote travel for the far west, and may need a room the night before for an early start.
  • Light on the coast. West Cork's light is extraordinary and unreliable in equal measure. Overcast and soft one minute, raking sun the next. Experienced filmmakers plan the couple portraits around it rather than the clock; our weather plan explains why that works in your favour.
  • Drones near the airport. Cork Airport's restricted zone covers the southern suburbs and nearby venues. Elsewhere in the county drones fly freely, weather permitting, and the coastline rewards them.
  • Church to venue journeys. Many Cork couples still marry in a parish church and drive 30 to 60 minutes to the reception. That journey needs to be in the timeline, and a second videographer helps when one car leaves before the other. Our wedding day timeline has the maths.

Venues videographers know well

East Cork and the harbour. Castlemartyr Resort, Fota Island Resort, Ballymaloe House in Shanagarry, Garryvoe Hotel on the beach, Kilshannig House near Rathcormac for exclusive-use country-house weddings.

Cork city and around. The Montenotte and the Maryborough for city weddings with views; Vienna Woods in Glanmire; Blarney Castle Hotel. Church ceremonies at St Fin Barre's Cathedral, the Honan Chapel at UCC and St Francis Church are regular fixtures.

Kinsale. Actons Hotel and the Trident on the harbour, and Ballinacurra House for private-hire weddings. Kinsale's streets and harbour make for a film with real sense of place; ask your videographer to budget 20 minutes for a walk through town.

West Cork. Inchydoney Island Lodge and Dunmore House in Clonakilty, Fernhill House, Liss Ard Estate near Skibbereen, Bantry House for ceremonies in the gardens, and the hotels of Glengarriff and Castletownbere for couples heading to the peninsulas. Longueville House near Mallow for the north of the county.

What Cork couples pay

Cork prices sit close to the national picture: most couples pay €2,200 to €2,800 for full-day coverage from an established videographer, with entry-level options from around €1,500 and premium multi-shooter teams above €3,000. The variable in Cork is travel. For West Cork venues, expect a travel fee from city-based videographers, or look at filmmakers based in the west of the county. Our videographer price guide breaks down what each tier includes.

Two of the videographers we recommend are based in the south: Greg Mulcahy Video in West Cork and Michael Hurley Wedding Films in Waterford, covering the south-east. Every videographer on our recommended list travels to Cork.

Ceremonies in Cork

Cork has several civil registration offices, and you can give your three months' notice at any of them. Civil ceremonies at venues are mostly weekday affairs; Humanist and other solemnisers cover Saturdays and outdoor ceremonies, which matters if your heart is set on a cliff or a garden. Our guide to getting married in Ireland covers the differences.

Questions to ask a videographer for a Cork wedding

  1. Have you filmed at our venue, and do you know the drive from our church?
  2. Is travel included for West Cork, and will you need accommodation?
  3. Can we see a full film from a coastal wedding where the weather turned?
  4. Can the drone fly at our venue, and what's the plan if it can't?
  5. How will you record the vows if the church has a poor PA?
  6. If we're getting ready in two places, is a second videographer included?

The full list, for every supplier, is in our questions to ask every wedding supplier checklist.
