Wedding Videographers in Wicklow: Venues, Prices and What to Ask (2026/27)
Wicklow is the Garden of Ireland and, for a wedding film, the most varied county within reach of Dublin: formal gardens at Powerscourt, Victorian country houses on the coast, a village of its own at Macreddin, and the mountains and lakes of Glendalough twenty minutes from all of them. This guide covers the venues videographers know well, what Wicklow couples pay, the mountain weather, and what to ask.

What makes Wicklow different on film
- Mountains make weather. It can be dry in Bray and raining in Roundwood. Venues in the hills (Glendalough, Macreddin, Rathsallagh) see more cloud and wind than the coast. Videographers who film here plan portraits around gaps and know each venue's dry spots. Our weather plan covers the plan B.
- Golden hour behind the hills. The sun drops behind the mountains earlier than the published sunset at venues on the eastern slopes. Ask your videographer when the light actually goes at your venue.
- Close to Dublin, no travel fee. Most of north and east Wicklow is inside Dublin videographers' normal range. The far south (Tinahely, Shillelagh, Arklow) may carry a small travel charge.
- Drones. Wicklow is open country for aerials, with the usual caveat about wind on the mountains and the coast. Glendalough itself is a national park with its own rules; ask before promising a shot over the lakes.
Venues videographers know well
Enniskerry and the north. Powerscourt Hotel and the House and Gardens (in our top venues guide), Summerhill House Hotel in Enniskerry, Killruddery House and Gardens in Bray, and the Glenview Hotel in the Glen of the Downs.
The coast. Tinakilly Country House and Hunter's Hotel in Rathnew, Clonwilliam House outside Wicklow town, and Druids Glen near Newtownmountkennedy.
The mountains and the south. BrookLodge and Macreddin Village at Aughrim, Rathsallagh House at Dunlavin, Ballybeg House near Tinahely for relaxed exclusive-use weddings, and the Glendalough Hotel for couples who want the valley on their doorstep.
Outdoors. Glendalough's upper lake, the Sally Gap, Lough Tay and the beaches at Brittas Bay and Silver Strand, all possible for a ceremony with a Humanist or other solemniser. Our elopements guide explains the legal route.
What Wicklow couples pay
Most couples pay €2,200 to €2,800 for full-day coverage from an established videographer, with entry-level options from around €1,500 and premium teams above €3,000. North Wicklow prices track Dublin's; the south of the county is a little kinder. Our videographer price guide explains the tiers. Every videographer on our recommended list covers Wicklow, and one, B&G Films, is based in the county.
Ceremonies in Wicklow
Wicklow's civil registration offices take notifications for anywhere in Ireland. The big houses are approved for civil ceremonies (mostly weekdays), many have a church within a short drive, and the gardens at Powerscourt, Killruddery and Tinakilly host Humanist ceremonies most summer Saturdays. Our guide to getting married in Ireland explains the three routes and the notice period.
Questions to ask a videographer for a Wicklow wedding
- Have you filmed at our venue, and where do you take couples when the gardens are wet?
- What time does the light go behind the hills at our venue in our month?
- Can the drone fly there, and what's your call on wind?
- If we're getting ready in Dublin, how do you cover both of us and the N11?
- How do you record vows in the garden, and what if we move inside at the last minute?
- Can we see a full film from a mountain venue in autumn or winter?
The complete list is in our questions to ask every wedding supplier checklist.
