Wedding Videographers in Kerry: Venues, Prices and What to Ask (2026/27)

Kerry is the county Irish wedding films are made of: lakes, mountains, the Atlantic, and a run of hotels in Killarney and Kenmare that have hosted weddings for a century. It's also three hours from Dublin and an hour and a half from Cork, so the practical questions are about travel, light and the famous Kerry weather. This guide covers the venues filmmakers know well, what Kerry couples pay, and what to ask before you book.

What makes Kerry different on film

  • The backdrop does the work. Killarney National Park, the Gap of Dunloe, Ladies View, Inch Beach, Slea Head: a 20-minute drive from most Kerry venues puts you somewhere that looks like a film already. Build the time in. Our wedding day timeline shows where a longer portrait session fits.
  • Mountain weather. Rain arrives faster and leaves faster than inland. Videographers who film Kerry regularly plan portraits around breaks in the cloud and know the sheltered spots at each venue. Our weather plan covers what to ask.
  • Travel. Most of Ireland's videographers are based in Dublin, Cork or Galway. For Kerry they'll quote travel and often a night's accommodation, especially for Dingle and the Ring. Kerry-based filmmakers exist and are worth seeking out.
  • Drones. Kerry Airport at Farranfore has a restricted zone; the national park has its own rules on drone use. Elsewhere, the coast and lakes are made for aerials, wind permitting.

Venues videographers know well

Killarney. The Europe Hotel at Fossa on Lough Leane, Aghadoe Heights above the lakes, Muckross Park Hotel beside the national park, the Killarney Park Hotel and the Great Southern in town, and Killeen House for smaller weddings. The Cathedral and the Franciscan Friary are the most-filmed churches in the county.

Kenmare and Sneem. Sheen Falls Lodge, Dromquinna Manor on the bay for marquee weddings, and Parknasilla Resort at Sneem, which has filmed beautifully for generations.

Tralee and north Kerry. Ballyseede Castle (in our castle wedding guide) and Ballygarry House Hotel.

Dingle. The Dingle Skellig Hotel, and the peninsula itself for ceremonies on Inch Beach, at Slea Head or on Clogher Head with a Humanist or other solemniser. Our elopements guide covers the legal route to marrying outdoors.

What Kerry couples pay

Most couples pay €2,200 to €2,800 for full-day coverage from an established videographer, with entry-level options from around €1,500 and premium teams above €3,000. Kerry's variable is travel: a Dublin videographer filming in Dingle may add a few hundred euro for mileage and a room. Weigh that against the value of a filmmaker who knows the county. Our videographer price guide explains the tiers. Every videographer on our recommended list travels to Kerry.

Ceremonies in Kerry

Kerry's civil registration offices take notifications for anywhere in Ireland. As elsewhere, civil ceremonies at venues are mostly weekdays, and outdoor ceremonies need a Humanist or other solemniser. Killarney's hotels are used to all three. Our guide to getting married in Ireland has the details, including for the many couples who come to Kerry from abroad.

Questions to ask a videographer for a Kerry wedding

  1. Have you filmed in Kerry before, and can we see a complete film from a wet day?
  2. Is travel and accommodation included in the quote?
  3. Where would you take us for portraits near our venue, and how long would you want?
  4. Can the drone fly at our venue, and what's the plan if it can't?
  5. How do you record vows outdoors or in a large church?
  6. If we're marrying in a church and driving to Kenmare, how do you cover both ends?

The complete list is in our questions to ask every wedding supplier checklist.
