Wedding Videographers in Kildare and Meath: Venues, Prices and What to Ask (2026/27)
Kildare and Meath are where Dublin gets married. Within an hour of the city there are more castles, country houses and estates than anywhere else in Ireland, and the videographers we recommend film in these two counties more than any others outside Dublin itself. The logistics are easy; the choice is the hard part. This guide covers the venues filmmakers know best, what couples pay, and what to ask.

What makes Kildare and Meath different on film
- Every venue has a photographer's map. These estates host weddings every weekend, and videographers who work them know the walled garden, the avenue, the window with the light at 5pm. Ask yours where they'd film the portraits before the day; the good ones answer immediately.
- Dublin prep, country ceremony. A large share of these weddings start in a Dublin hotel or family home and move out along the M4, M7 or M3. Factor the Friday or Saturday drive into the timeline honestly. Our wedding day timeline builds in the travel.
- Little or no travel fee. Dublin-based videographers rarely charge travel for Kildare or Meath, which makes these counties good value for the premium end of the market.
- Drones. Most of both counties sits well outside Dublin Airport's restricted zone, and the estates were designed to be seen from above. Ask about wind on open parkland.
Venues videographers know well
Kildare. The K Club at Straffan, Carton House in Maynooth, The Cliff at Lyons near Celbridge, Kilkea Castle, Barberstown Castle, Killashee in Naas, Burtown House and Gardens near Athy for relaxed garden weddings, and Clanard Court in Athy. Several appear in our top venues guide and castle wedding guide.
Meath. Tankardstown House near Slane, Ballymagarvey Village, Bellinter House and Boyne Hill House near Navan, Clonabreany House near Kells, The Millhouse and the Conyngham Arms in Slane, Johnstown Estate at Enfield, Knightsbrook and Trim Castle Hotel in Trim, and Dunboyne Castle on the Dublin border.
Just beyond. Bellingham Castle and Darver Castle in Louth draw plenty of Meath couples; so do Luttrellstown Castle and Carton House on the Dublin side. Our Dublin guide covers the city's venues.
What Kildare and Meath couples pay
Most couples pay €2,200 to €2,800 for full-day coverage from an established videographer, with entry-level options from around €1,500 and premium multi-shooter teams above €3,000. Because so many of these weddings are at larger estates with two prep locations, a second videographer is booked more often here than in most counties; ask what it adds. Our videographer price guide explains the tiers, and why a second videographer helps covers when it's worth it. Every videographer on our recommended list covers both counties.
Ceremonies in Kildare and Meath
Both counties have civil registration offices, and most of the big estates are approved for civil ceremonies, mostly on weekdays. Many venues have a chapel or church on the grounds or nearby for religious ceremonies, and Humanist celebrants are busy here for Saturday weddings in the gardens. Our guide to getting married in Ireland explains the three routes and the three-month notice.

- If we're getting ready in Dublin, how do you cover both of us and the drive?
- Can the drone fly at our venue?
- Can we see a full film from our venue, or one like it, in winter?
- How do you record speeches in the venue's dining room?
